The story of El Segundo in Q2 of 2020 was much like the rest of the world…..with home sales slowing dramatically due to the concerns and real world impacts of the coronavirus.  Home sales were very slow especially in April and May.  June picked back up which is great news and hopefully the market can get back to pre-covid numbers.  April-June saw only 22 total home sales in El Segundo compared with 49 in the same months a year earlier.  The good news is that it was still a very solid market in terms of numbers….especially for sellers.  The median home price was an impressive $1,251,000 and the average days on market was a very short 23.  For a bit of historical perspective see our recent post on the number of home sales over the past 15 months in El Segundo.

If you like craft beer and the feeling that you’re in a “locals” type place, you may want to visit the El Segundo Brewing Company tap room.    It’s not a fancy place but has that cool vibe that you’ve found something that the tourists don’t know about.  As it’s a working brewery it’s just a small area with a bar and a few small tables basically in what was probably a loading dock at some point.  They have a great variety of beers and the people are very friendly.

They usually have between 15-20 beers on tap and are open 7 days a week.  We’ve only been in the evenings but there always seems to be a healthy amount of people without being too crowded.  If a casual off the beaten track experience is what you’re looking for…this could be your place.
